2026 goals: play more, connect more, build something good

Hey hey hey! It’s been a minute, huh? 😅 I hope the holidays have gone well!

We’ve got a new, fresh year coming up, and I wanted to share my goals with you. I have 2 big ones:

#1. Connect, with people like you, on my mailing list, my local community, and with other people working in tech.

#2. Build community on tech teams through play

Why these goals? Well…

Back in July, I started The Party, a playful community for tech folks, and now I have some stats that show play really does make a difference.

74% said they felt more connected, there was self-reported improvement on 7 soft skills, on average, and 100% said they’d want to bring play-based practices to their teams at work

I also learned: The Party was a safe space outside of work. The actual workplace? Mileage may vary…

So I’m about to do a pivot. I’ve created SPACE for Play, a framework for building community on teams through play. It combines five elements (Safety, Purpose, Autonomy, Care, Enablement) that bring people closer through things like games, improv exercises, and playfulness.

"Ross from Friends, yelling pivot while trying to get a couch through a stairwell"

What this means for you

You’ll get 3-4 emails a month (usually on Tuesdays) with games to try, SPACE for Play thoughts, and ways to bring more play into your work!

I’ll be sharing free resources, like always, and I’m working on some paid resources to help, things like mini-courses and workshops as well!

Play is how we build better days. Let’s go on this journey together!
